If you don’t have time to head to the Hamptons in New York, take a trip to Port Stephens instead. Stay at the recently renovated luxurious Anchorage Hotel and Spa. Located just over 2 hours north of Sydney CBD, you can enjoy the scenic coastal drive along the way, through national parks and over the Hawkesbury River.
As you reach the end of Corlette Point Rd to The Anchorage, you immediately feel sense of tranquility. Who wouldn’t when you’re greeted with a Hamptons style resort with sparkling blue ocean in the background. After its multi-million dollar facelift in late 2017, it has come back again as one of the most talked about coastal escapes. Written about in many major publications such as Vogue Living, Marie Claire and Harpers Bazaar.
Every room has been designed to take advantage of the waterview and are all Hamptons inspired. From the moment you walk in, the VIP treatment begins with a bottle of cool champagne awaits, ready for you to enjoy as you sit on the balcony wrapped up in the soft robes and take in the immaculate views.
De-stress at the Spa Lucca
Don’t sit for too long though, in case you miss your appointment at the Spa Lucca. Book into their Signature Spa Rituals to truly unwind and give your body a well deserved cleanse. With so many treatments and packages to choose from, there’s sure to be a perfect one for you.
Cruise out into the Sunset
Now all de-stressed, hop onto the Sunset Sail Cruise that departs straight from their marina. This was personally my favourite part as there’s just something about water that’s so calm and soothing. So imagine having dolphins swimming around from time to time while sipping on white wine and indulging in oysters and cheese. Can’t forget the breath taking sunset to finish this dream.
Dine at the Wild Herring
After the relaxing cruise, it is time for an intimate modern Australian seafood experience at The Wild Herring. The head chef Michael Jenkins has designed the menu to showcase local seafood and everyone knows, Australia has some of the best seafood in the world. We indulged! There are limited seats so make sure to book beforehand to reserve the best seat in the house – right by the window looking out onto the beautiful marina.
Finish off your stay with full hot and cold buffet breakfast by the pool in the Galley Kitchen. The pools look out onto the water so you don’t miss the view and by the side there are plenty of deck chairs for those who want to work on their tan. Like any other luxurious hotel, there is an infinity pool for adults only to enjoy.
