Luxury hotels just keep getting better and better. Every new hotel that opens, it seems that it’s not only the rooms that become more fancy, but the facilities at the hotel, including the pools.
I generally won’t travel to a hotel if they don’t have a pool. Not because I’m a hotel snob but because when a hotel has a luxurious pool, it makes for an even more relaxing trip. Now most travellers may not travel this way and that is fine but there is just something nice about ultra-luxe hotel pools that you are going to remember when you go home.
These are the luxury hotel pools that are taking it to the next level.
1) Alila Villas Uluwatu, Indonesia
The views from the pool at Alila Villas Uluwatu are nothing less than perfect. The pool sits 100m above the Indian Ocean, perched on the cliffs and is the perfect spot to spend the day and an even better spot to watch the golden Balinese sunsets and makes it my number one for luxury hotel pools.
2) Hanging Gardens of Bali, Indonesia
In the heart of the jungle in Ubud is the Hanging Gardens of Bali. Head here for that insta-worthy photo by the pool to show off to all your friends. Not to mention a super luxurious hotel.
3) The Brando, French Polynesia
They don’t call it The Brando for nothing. This is the former Polynesian home of Marlon Brando and the luxury hotel pool is in the best spot you could imagine…on the beach.
4) Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, Japan
You probably won’t head to Kyoto to see a hotel pool but if you are going to stay anywhere, make it the Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto. This indoor pool and spa is one of the most luxurious in the country. The 20 metre indoor pool, with two matching whirlpool jacuzzis and submerged stone beds was designed for the ultimate relaxation
5) Aman Tokyo, Japan
High above the city is the ultra-luxe hotel pool at Aman Tokyo. At 30 metres long and on the corner of the hotel, the light filled pool gives you panoramic views over the city and the perfect sunset.
6) Six Senses Zil Pasyon, Seychelles
Set on a private island, the pool at Six Senses Zil Pasyon overlooks the turquoise waters of the Seychelles. This impressive pool is the perfect place to relax while listening to the waves gently break.
7) Four Seasons Shanghai at Pudong, China
The “007 pool” at the Four Seasons Hotel Pudong is famous for featuring in James Bond film “Skyfall”. The impressive views of the Shanghai skyline should not be missed.
8) Amangiri, USA
The incredibly unique Amangiri is a remote hideaway within the canyons of the American state of Utah. Relaxing by the pool is a destination in itself and the panoramic views are unlike anywhere else in the US.
9) Park Hyatt Sydney, Australia
The rooftop pool at the Park Hyatt Sydney is absolute perfection. From here you are able to take in the Sydney city skyline, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and also Sydney Harbour. If you want to understand what makes Sydney so beautiful, a few hours relaxing here is a great place to start.
10) Anantara Chiang Mai
A boutique resort in the city, the Anantara Chiang Mai Resort Riverside Pool is quietly secluded beside the Mae Ping River. The perfect place for a cocktail, head here after a day of touring in Chiang Mai.
11) Park Hyatt Bangkok – I just couldn’t keep it to 10
Bangkok has been a top travel destination for many years. The Park Hyatt Bangkok is redefining a new level of luxury and the 40 metre pool with these amazing views is why we had to add it to our list of 10 pools…even though this is #11. Head up in the afternoon and relax on your sun lounge in a garden setting sipping on a Thai inspired cocktail.
