Qatar Airways recently introduced the Qsuite product into the Australian market and this new business class product is a game changer not only for the airline but for the industry. The Qatar Airways Qsuite is currently available from Canberra / Sydney to Doha, then onto a numerous amount of destinations. I was lucky enough to be able to try out the new product between Sydney and Canberra* for the day.
*You are unable to book Sydney – Canberra (vice versa) with Qatar and it is only able to be booked from these destinations all the way through to Qatar Airways hub in Doha, Qatar.

Flying daily from Canberra / Sydney to Doha. The flight from Canberra touches down for a quick 1.5 hour transit in Sydney.
Qatar Airways offers the Qsuites on their two cabin Boeing 777-300ER to these popular destinations from Doha (there are more destinations currently offered but these are the most popular): Bangkok, Colombo, Mumbai, Shanghai, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Chicago, Houston, New York, Washington.
There is only a business class and economy class cabin on the Boeing 777-300ER that I tested. The business class cabin is located in the front two sections of the plane with the first 6 rows being in the very front section and the next 5 rows in the middle section.
The Qsuite is extremely spacious. The seat width is 21.5 inches and it converts into a fully flat bed that measures 79 inches.
The Qsuite is great for families of 4 travelling together. It is a quad block layout where the panels between the forward and rear facing rows are adjustable. This allows you to have meal time with your family and friends.
Leg room is definitely not an issue on the Qatar Airways Qsuite. I am 6 foot 4 and had plenty of room. The other thing that I liked was the fact it wasn’t a cubby hole on the side like some other business classes in the market. This allows you to actually lay flat.
So this is what makes this new business class a one of a kind. The middle two seats in rows with an E or F seat convert into a double bed in the sky.
Qatar Airways really put a lot of effort into make this one stylish cabin.
I was lucky enough to be able to test all of the seats in the business class cabin and although they are all amazing, the double beds in the sky were my favourite.
Looking into the Qsuite from above, you have the ultimate level of privacy. You won’t really find this on other business class cabins.
Rose champagne – don’t mind if i do
USB ports, power ports and a small touch screen tv remote.
The touch screen TV is a bit far to use if you are laying down so Qatar Airways provides a small touch screen remote.
“The sky is a wonderful place to be” – Yes it is.
The middle seats will convert into a double bed in the sky.
Qatar Airways staff were all delightful. All with a smile and wanting to show true middle eastern hospitality.
The Qsuite also offer a private door so once up in the air, you can close it for the ultimate privacy.
