The hottest luxury hotel in town…The Hotel des Arts Saigon – a must when you head to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
One of Accor’s MGallery Collection, the Hotel Des Arts Saigon is smack bang in the centre of the city and within walking distance to all the main tourist attractions, bars and restaurants. It is the creme de la creme of hotels where you can experience the comfort and romance with the French influence of colonial Vietnam.
This 5 star boutique (well, brand hotel with a boutique approach and feel) hotel is amazing, with many works of art around the hotel to the insane rooftop bar/pool and Social Club. Why stay anywhere else?
Opened in 2015, Hotel des Arts Saigon just looks like an ordinary slim building from the outside. Step into the lobby, this Parisian style property is made up of beautiful cream colours, giving that dreamy feeling with beautiful French touches.
The service is impeccable, from the friendly welcome by the doorman, to the check in/reception staff working hard day and night to make sure you are having an amazing stay.
For a boutique property, the offering of 5 different room types plus the Executive Studio Suites, gives travellers a choice of numerous accommodation options to suit their style and budget.
The difference between the room types are the size, floor level, outlook views and furnishings in the room. The suites are double in size to the main rooms and also offer a separate dressing room.
The beautiful furnishings throughout the room, luxury spaces with beautiful rosewood floors, really showcase the French colonial Saigon. Period artwork on the walls and a touch of elegance throughout makes the rooms at Hotel des Arts Saigon as authentic as they come. A perfect night sleep is in order.
Maybe one of the best in Asia, the Hotel des Arts Saigon pool is located on the roof. The pool is big enough to do short laps but small enough to not be considered over the top for a luxury boutique hotel. It’s a relaxed vibe, with a mix of deck chairs, lounges and high tables so you are able to enjoy the hot weather with a drink from the fully stocked bar.
If you have had enough time by the pool or seeing all the sights, then the Le Spa des Artistes is well worth the price. The hotel says that “the only items on the agenda at Le Spa des Artistes are relaxation and rejuvenation”. The 6 treatment rooms are perfect for single or double treatments alike and you are most likely going to want to book another session.
Like any 5 star hotel, you come to expect a very high lever of service. Hotel des Arts Saigon is no different and if anything, they have exceeded it with an level of attention sure to impress.
The Sky Lounge, exclusively for guests staying in Sky Executive rooms at Hotel des Arts Saigon, is where the service really shines through. Located above the city, with spectacular views, the Sky Lounge exclusively offers services and experiences for both leisure and business travellers.
The private reception welcomes guests with a personalised check-in and late check out. Guests are able to also have buffet breakfast in the lounge as opposed to the main restaurant.
I believe getting a room that has access to the Sky Lounge is well worth the money. The added extras such as all day refreshments, daily high tea, evening wines, cheeses and cocktails definitely make up for the higher room category price. Not to mention the special and personalised service.
You are hardly going to be short of food options in Ho Chi Minh City. You could spend a lifetime in the city and still have time to find new places to grab a bite. The hotel itself, even though on the boutique size has some great options too.
The main restaurant, ‘Saigon Kitchen’ serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The interior is inspired by an Asian street food market and it’s the best place to sample the regional specialities plus Western cuisine options. You won’t know where to start, but my suggestion is the lobster and crabs!
After dinner, if you have enough room in your belly, head upstairs to the open air rooftop ‘Social Club Rooftop Bar’. When the sun goes down, the party starts. It’s a vibrant, exciting atmosphere where you can enjoy the ambience with panoramic views across the city.
Much like the Sofitel Saigon Plaza, one thing you must try is the local Vietnamese iced coffee. It’s a local favourite and when done right, is just amazing. While you are in Ho Chi Minh City, a must is to visit the War Remnants Museum. The museum is a shocking reminder of the Vietnam War but it’s a place that every visitor should go. Understanding the past is very important so it doesn’t happen again.
If you are after a boutique luxury hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, then Hotel des Arts Saigon by MGallery is the perfect property. It has all the facilities and luxuries of a big hotel and the service is outstanding, with the style and quality matching. The location in the city is perfect with a lot of attractions within walking distance. If you are after a bit of relaxation after a morning of touring, then be sure to check out the spa and also rooftop pool.
Hotel des Arts Saigon is a city favourite and with many hotels in the city to choose from, this property is for the higher end luxury traveller who wants something smaller than the Sofitel Saigon Plaza and other large hotels in the area, but of the same quality and service.
